Reading Log Info

I am trying to get my reading log up and going. I am looking for some sort of directions for my parents to follow. I would also love some questions that parents could ask their child after they have read. Anything you have would be wonderful! Here is my reading log if you would like to see it.

What grade level do you teach? That might help us to give you better advice!

I teach 2nd grade. That probably would have been something to add.

The reading log my students use is attached below.

For questions parents can ask, you may find ideas here:

Look for "Ways To Talk with Your Child About Books"

Unfortunately, I cannot open word attatchments to see what others have already said. I am forced to use a browser other than exploer. Hopefully I won't be duplicating someone else's idea. I use a calendar template for each month. I ask my second grade students to read about 7 hours a month for a regular month, and modify for shorter months. They record the number of minutes read in the squares. I tell them 20 minutes 5 times per week will get them to the goal. Some read more, some read less, but just about all read more than they would without the calendar. Best wishes.
