I teach fourth grade and I want to do a Rock star theme. I need some ideas, I have CD's that I am going to put the kids names on and I was think of having a huge IPOD with a playlist of the things we study. If you have ANYTHING else please let me know!

hey there- check out this article I wrote on Classroom Newsletters. The site I mention has a whole bunch of stuff on a Rock and Roll theme. Not sure if that's the same as 'Rock Star' but you could take a look!

Sounds great!! I never taught 4th so I'm not sure all what needs to be in the class, but you are on a roll. I will be thinking for you ~ what type of incentive boards do you have? What will you be starting with at the beginning of the year?

I like the iPod idea for books you are reading also.

Here's a link I found through a google search to a teacher's website that shows what she did for her "rock-n-roll" theme. (Rock Star of the Week, Rockin' Responsibilities, etc.)

I was just in the B. Boards/Themes board and there are some other teacher's here on PT who are doing the Rock Star theme also. They have listed their ideas and pictures. Here's a link to the thread. http://www.proteacher.net/discussion...t=182274ctures.

Here's another link to the b.boards/theme board with lots of ideas.

OMG...I love your idea! Let us know how you create that giant Ipod with the units of study.

Beth Newingham's website has a Rock and Roll theme section. Check out her website..I do not have the link but google her and you will find her! She is amazing and you will find great ideas about lots of things. One of her ideas that I remember is when she used Printshop to superimpose pictures of her kids in front of an American Idol looking backdrop...it looked amazing!

I did this last year with 3rd grade. I somewhat put it together with Hollywood. Some ideas could include cut outs of gutiars (or blown up gutiars). I used them on my BB with the words "3rd grade Rocks". I had a plastiic trophy that I got at party city that I used for student of the week, Presented it like an awards show. Party city had lots of great decorating things.

Thanks for the link tech Teacher. It is a HUGE time saver for teachers and reasonably priced. I would pay 99 cents for homemade name plates that matched my theme. I'm also thinking about using the newsletter template for my theme HOLYYWOOD. Thanks for the resource.
