In the ones that I've read online, most teachers seem to use Z to reference sleeping...making sure your child gets enough sleep because during the day we'll be buys with A, B, and C.

For your letters of N, T, U, X, Y, Z - this is what I have

N - newsletter (I only do a monthly one)

T - transportation (let me know if transportation is different with note), toys/games (leave them at home )

U - Unfinished work (will be sent home), Unique (each child learns differently blah blah blah)

X - XXIII (write the number of kids in class in roman numerals)

Y- You (lists some things parents can do to make kid's year successful)

Z - Zzzzzzz! (be sure your kid gets plenty of sleep to do well)

So that is what I do for those letters.

Do you send this home in a pamphlet for parents at open house? I send home a parent packet at the beginning of the year with rules and procedures, but would love to do something like this as a handout for open house. Do you think it would be overkill?

X-Xtra support means a lot to your children
Y-
Z-zzzz's. Make sure your child gets plenty of zzzzz's every night.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks so much everyone!

For N I did "New Information"

N is for New Information

Itís important for me to know what is happening outside of your childís life at school. Big changes such as a move, a new family member or a loss of a pet can impact the way a child behaves and works at school. If something important is happening in the life of your child, please send me an email and let me know. Itís good for me to have a heads up so that I can appropriately handle any changes in their behavior.

I thought that was good. I used your other ones though! Thanks so much!!

Z- Sleep
Y- Year-- hoping for a good year
U- Unfinished Work
T- Time out (being sent to the office)
X- eXtra clothes

I was thinking T-Tennis shoes on PE days. At our school our PE teacher makes a HUGE deal out of kids wearing tennis shoes on PE days.
