I bought a tri-fold display board, the kind that are usually used for science project displays, to cover in felt and put velcroed words on. My question is: What is the best way to attach the felt to the board? staple, glue gun, spray adhesive? Maybe I should just spray paint it? Who out there has experience that can share?
I stapled something on one time and the staples went through the board. Lots of scratches there! When I used a board like that, I just glued my words straight to the board. They peeled off easily to reuse the next year. Good Luck!
I made one last year with a tri-fold board. My tri-fold was blue so I didn't have to cover it. I put the letters of the alphabet on library pockets and laminated them. I slit the openings on the library pockets and glued each pocket to the tri-fold board to hold the words. We were required to have an interactive word wall in addition to our regular one. My students used it as a work station.
You can just use velcro dots. Put one part of the velcro directly on the tri-fold board and the other part on the back of your vocabulary words if you decide not to use the felt. I used velcro dots on my work station rotation board.
