So what do you think? Are there 4 or 5 oceans? Do you teach about the Southern Ocean? I can't seem to find a straight answer out there. I



After doing even more research, I am going to teach about 5 oceans. I found some good information on edhelper and enchanted learning.

Southern Ocean. I told them it was like Pluto - some people say it's an ocean some do not. I also showed a brainpop video which discussed the different # of continents.

There's really only one ocean and the "experts" used to desribe it as four. Now they have decided to describe it as five. We lay people can only follow along. Teaching four will put your students out of synch with the rest of their generation.
