Anyone use Pandora in the classroom? If so, what artist/genre channels are good for your class? Just discovered this site. Great one!

It's great. You can name an artist and it will gather similar artists in that genre. I feel it is safe and worth a second look.

How do you access this wonderful site?

Once I create a playlist, where do I save it? I know...I should know this...

It's just pandora.com. I don't know if you can make a playlist or not...you can create channels that will only play the kind of music you want, but you can't request specific songs.

is one of my favorite stations for my first graders -- especially when it's writing time!

THEY love the High School Musical station =)

I'm so jealous that you can get this at your school! It's blocked where I teach -- EVERYTHING seems to be blocked where I teach.

before and after school and on planning periods. It is so funny....the custodians fight over who gets to sweep my room because they like listening to the music

I asked for "classical music" and also "piano music" and it plays great music for writing time. Another great one for kids is Jack Johnson. I like to listen to the Christian music when I'm there alone. It's a great site!!!

Pandora is awesome, but unfortunately it is blocked at school. I can get myplaylist, though, which is good, so I just made a playlist with my school picks.

You can request almost anything. For math I have created a Mozart station. For writing I have a Baroque and Classical station. For quite reading and small group work I have stations based on my favorite jazz and easy listening artists like Acoustic Alchemy, Keiko Matsui, and Govi. Sometimes for art and computer time I'll play Jack Johnson or Colbie Calliet. You do have to be careful with some stations because they won't filter out inappropriate language. I foulnd this out on a Plain White T's station and a song from a group called Panic at the Disco. Thankfully I was in the room alone at the time.

For my own enjoyment I have a Christian station (try Crosswalkradio.com too) and stations on some of my favorite artists like DC Talk, Genesis, Audio Adrenaline, and Plain White T's.
