Does any one have anything outstanding they do for AEW?

I have read the sites from NEA and Ed World, but I want to hear from you what works.

Thanks

Last year I did math centers... parents and kids rotated through. It was a little chaotic, but everyone was busy.

This year, we are doing something more quiet... a writing prompt from one of the 4 -square coach books. The prompt can be done with or without a parent and will go pretty much at everyone's own pace.

How many parents do you have show up?
We serve Thanksgiving dinner that week and usually have our veterans day program that week, so our school is full of people.
I think some of our staff would revolt!

You mean you actually have parent help in the classroom? Outside of making copies and such. It would take a miracle to have parents come in and do any "helping" with students.

Do they read, write, and practice math with help from parents????

I am intrigued!!! I will have to google this phenomenon!
