To the person who posted about using pumpkins with book reports. I did that with my students and it turned out so well. I am attaching pics of their projects. I will have to do it in four posts.

I think the kids and parents had fun. One parent, whose child did Captain Underpants said she thought she'd get kicked out of Wal-Mart as she tried underwear on a pumpkin!

Wow! Your third graders did these by themselves? That's awesome. They could teach some of my fifth graders a thing or two about completing projects.

They had some very creative ideas. Tell your kids, bravo!

Cool idea! No wonder they look so awesome! That's great that the families got to participate in something so fun. I would have enjoyed working on something like this with my son. I would definitely keep these pics to show your class next year as samples.

They did such good work. I am surprised that you said the students were in 3rd grade. I teach 8th graders and many of them don't do that well. Great job to your students. Thanks for sharing with everyone up here so we can see the good work your students did on their book reports.
