I want to have some type of running record of the books that I have in my classroom. I have considered just making an excel spread sheet but am afraid of the time that it would take. Is there a 'easy and quick' way to have a record of the books I already have? I think I have heard of a bar code scanner???? Do you have any suggestions?

yes there is! and it's wonderful... it's a website:

you can enter all your books online and even Tag them with reading levels or genres. then you can print out your list and use it to check which books have not made it back to your classroom library. i like it because you can also link your personal library page to your website and kids/parents can see what you have in your classroom library.

oh! and for $6 you can buy a little barcode scanner that will help you to enter all your books in. IT'S AMAZING!

I'm obsessed with getting my library in shape. A feature such as this would be wonderful. I didn't see where to order the scanner online anywhere. Where would I find that at?
