I'm planning a retirement party and getting the gift for our secretary. She is leaving us after 28 years of service at our school.

Any fun and creative ideas for a party and gift. Any ideas or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Around our school, the favorite gift is a certificate at the upscale-ish shoe store in town (sells Danskos, Ecco, lots of other great brands). And I like Spa certificates, too.

For a recent long service gift, each teacher in the school made one scrapbook page (some had help) and we put together a photo album for her. It was amazing, every page turned out unique and very special, full of good memories and good wishes.

or a clock for that matter....I find it very ironic that our school gives watches and clocks for long years of service and retirement gifts. If there is ever a time of life to need less clocks, it is then.
