Does anyone have some cute cooking recipes for K-1 for Thanksgiving? Prefer non baking recipes... but will have access to an oven.

Thanks in advanced!

Thanksgiving is always when I do "Stone Soup" in a crockpot. It's a great time to talk about everyone contributing.

After we learn about native americans my class makes tortilla t-pees. I found the smaller tortillas to work the best.

I saw this in a magazine and haven't yet tried it but it seemed easy enough. Fudge stripe cookie, stripe side down. Put a dollop of orange tinted canned vanilla frosting on top of the cookie. Put a small peanut butter cup upside down on the frosting and push down a bit so the frosting makes the band around the hat. Use a small (really, really small - I forget the name, but someone will remember - chicklet, maybe) piece of yellow colored square gum, as the buckle on the band. You're done!

I made no bake pumpkin pies last year. The recipe call for pumpkin pie filling, spices and instant vanilla pudding. After mixing the ingredients we filled individual tart shells and put them in the fridge to chill until the afternoon. I also had whipped topping for those who wanted it.

Squanto's Snack

Remember how Squanto taught the Pilgrims to plant corn and fertilized it with dead fish? Here is an easy snack: make dirt cups (pudding with crushed Oreos) and "plant" corn (candy corn) and fertilize with fish (sweedish fish). Yum!
