Listen to Reading trouble

What kind of radio do all of you use for your Listen to Reading station for Daily 5? All the newer radios do not have a headphone jack, only an AC/MP3 adapter. You can plug the headphone into it but it won't play anything. I have all the fantastic headphones including the listening station but now I can't use them Any suggestions?? I put this on the Daily 5 thread too. Help please!

Check out some of the teacher supply stores like Lakeshore. They still sell listening center supplies that should work for you. I use an old tape player and an old cd player.

"Listening" HELP!

I have found the CD players to be a NIGHTMARE! They all turn on in different ways, they break if you even slightly bump them, and the kids are always forgetting to shut the power off - thus batteries are always dead. I have spent a small fortune on CD players & batteries & am ready to try something new.

"The Sisters" are now saying that they use stories on websites for their "Listening" centers. Have any of you found user-friendly sites for this? I only have 1 computer in my classroom, but am willing to give it a try.

My kids really like this site. It has celebrities reading books aloud.
