I'm wanting to buy sets of 25 novels of the same title for my classroom, used if possible. When I go to Amazon and Ebay, they have used books for 1 cent apiece, but you can only buy 1 from each seller. So you're paying shipping for each book separately. Any ideas? I checked Scholastic, but couldn't find any sets.

sometimes I'm able to find sets for a good price on ebay. You may not be able to find enough books for 25 students. I've had to add to the sets by checking with local resale shops. I also trade sets with other teachers to keep my sets fresh and interesting for my students (and me). So you may want to ask around in your building or district to find enough.

Sometimes Scholastic has them in sets of 6 and we just buy 4 groups of the sets. Are you looking for a particular title? We order Scholastic as a grade level and them use our points to buy book sets and books for the kids at Christmas and and the end of the year.

Teachers bargain basement has them occasionally. It is a yahoo message group. I think I heard about it here quite awhile ago. What books are you looking for?

I've bought books when they were 99cents from scholastic and I've also been able to find sets from ebay. In the book section type in sets or lots to see if you can find anything. It's hit or miss, but if you check regularly you can get lucky.

Have you checked your local ISD (Intermediate School District)? This is where I order my classroom videos, DVDs, etc from. They also stock sets of books. Naturally you couldn't keep them, but it may be worth trying a set before you buy them.

I always get mine from Scholastic with book points. I save until I can get enough of one title. You can buy 25 of the same book.
