stand alone program in lab

I am on a committee whose job is to pick a stand alone program for our computer lab. We were provided no information about the possible options. Through some research we have discovered, Education City, Compass Odyssey, and Study Island. We had Plato but it did not work in our district. It had too many problems in our lab. Is anyone using any of the above mentioned programs? Opinions please... I thought there were many out there and am finding out there are not many choices. We do not have a computer teacher. We take our students to the lab. We have a para who helps keep the lab running. Any info is greatly appreciated as we are twiddling our thumbs.

Essential Skills. It has language arts, math and I believe some science. We love it, it's easy to use and the kids find it engaging.

I used Study Island last year and really liked it. It is organized for your state's testing, and the students enjoy the games aspect of it. I also liked that I could print worksheets for skills the kids were working on.

We use this program and I LOVE it. It's great because teachers can get on a pick assignments for the children to do that directly goes along with the lessons in the classroom. Also the program has a feature for struggling children you could assign them work from the previous grade or grades. The glory of this is no child ever knows what the other ones are doing.

We use Study Island. I like it. Students can sign on from any computer. I can set up the lessons I want them to do. and it also has a feature for struggling children you could assign them work from the previous grade. I allows the teacher to keep track of scores and how many questins are answered.

We use SuccessMaker. It has foundations courses in Reading and Math, as well as Exploreware courses in Reading, Math, Science, Spelling, Algebra. Each class goes to the lab two to four times each week. Our intervention students do a session everyday. There are lots of useful reports that you have access to.

We dropped Fast ForWord and Study Island to have SuccessMaker by Pearson Corp. instead. It is much better bang for the buck! I had SuccessMaker at 2 other schools already knew it was much more useful. It reteaches things students get wrong. It has a built in system for identifying the level at which a student is working successfully and then it reteaches and keeps moving them forward. It even has a prescriptive report that can guide you toward determining how many sessions a student needs in order to meet state standards on testing at the end of the year. We use it with kindergarten through 5th grade in our school.
