So I have a parent that totally went behind my back to my prinicpal and attacked me. She said I was to strict of a teacher and my classroom was depressing. My principal has no concern about it, but I'm having a hard time getting over it. How do I not take this out on her knowing what I know???

continue to be the teacher you know you should be. If the parent comes to you be ultra kind, thanking her for her concern, but reminding her that teaching ___ children the best you can and helping her child succeed is what you are doing and you hope she understand thta the principal has to come in and check on you. Thank her for her concern and then walk away!!!! Smiling the WHOLE time!

Just continue to be the "professional". I am also a very structured/strict teacher and I just explain to the parents that I want their child to be "independent learners" and that I need to spend time teaching them the routines of the classroom. Just smile and be polite but then politely decline if she/he wants to volunteer in your classroom. Just tell the parent that you "are all set.!"
