Help! Math Facts

This year, more than usual, my students do not know their basic facts. Our school does Facts Master most days, so I don't think that's the solution. Have any of you had success with a program or activity that helped students learn basic facts. They get incentives from Facts Master, so not sure incentives are working. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I also need ideas, I have second graders that can't complete basic facts.

I know this sounds really basic, but many of my students have had success with flashcards. They like to play "Go Fish". They take turns and ask questions like "Does anyone have two numbers that add up to twelve (or ten, or whatever)?" Then the other students in the group check their cards by starting with the highest number and adding on or using another addition strategy.

My students had a lot of success with flashcards as well, especially the triangular cards with the fact families on them (we use them in Everyday Math). The cards really helped them understand and retain their facts. They work great for self-study or working with a partner. Here are a couple of links:

Multiplication and Division Triangle Cards

Addition and Subtraction Triangle Cards

More Triangle Templates (with blanks too)

Thanks for the wonderful link to these triangular flash cards! I like the fact that they make kids think about inverse operations as they learn their facts. This will help them with algebra down the road!

I like the fact that these flashcards focus on the fact family instead of just one equation. Thanks!
