Introducing contractions to my 2nd graders and want something fun and educational...got any ideas?

I have not done this but have seen it talked about in other posts, so I may not be remembering it all correctly!

But it seems like the teacher gives the student a sentence strip with the two words on one end of the strip and the contraction at the other end and has the student glue a piece of macaroni where the apostrophe would go...or something like that??!!

Maybe what I read was for doing quotation marks on a sentence strip, but I guess you could adapt the idea for contractions....
