I saw this somewhere, but forget how it is played entirely.

You have 3 kids

1 deck of cards with no face cards

I child is the "teacher"

The other 2 put a card each on their forehead and don't look at each others' cards.

The teacher tells the sum of the cards

The students guess what their card is (I think) Or can they guess either addend.

This is where I'm confused. I think that they get the pair if they correctly guess, but I'm not sure how that comes about. Do they HAVE to guess either addend or can it be just theirs?

Anyone ever play this.

We did play it today and just worked together to guess the numbers. The kids loved it and were so good. It's great for missing addends.

With the cards on their foreheads, the students face each other. That way, they can see one of the cards. So, if the teacher says the sum is 15, and student A can see that student B's card is 8, then student A knows he has 7.
I've done this with multiplication, too, and the kids love it.

That is it! So how do you decide who gets to keep the pair of cards...whoever says the first correct answer?

Thank you!

and call it "Salute"...because it looks they are saluting when they hold the cards on their foreheads. They say "salute" as they put up their cards - that way both kids show the cards at the same time.
