Anyone use the CAFE Book for Reading?

Hi! I am a 2nd grade teacher who uses the CAFE book (by Gail Boushey and Joan Moser) in my Reading instruction. My colleagues in the intermediate grades (4-6) are curious about it and would like to try it. Do any of you use it and would be willing to share how you've adapted it to your grade level and how its going? Thanks so much in advance!

I teach 5th grade and use it. My students and I both love it! If you are looking for more information you can check out the Peony room...lots of information about D5 and Cafe :-)

I'm in 5th grade and have just started using the CAFE board for the first time. My students seem to like it and I feel like I have a better handle on where my students are academically.

I teach Fourth Grade and started using the Daily Cafe and Daily 5 last year. I have adjusted the daily five slightly to fit with the intermediate readers: read to self, read to someone, word work, respond to reading (journals), and work on research. We use SRA Imagine It! for our reading series and by slightly tweaking the Daily 5 I have found that we are able to better incorporate all aspects of both programs.
