I am a new Kindergarten teacher and I am trying to teach my students the months of the year. We already have a days of the week song, but does anyone have a good months of the year song? Thanks!

we have all the months displayed on the circle time board and say them every day starting from the top to find the month we are in now and go all the way the bottom. kind of like saying the days of the weeks, it stuck by the end of the first month we started it

Month's song

We sing the Marcarena Month song by Dr. Jean. My kids LOVE it when it's time to sing the months song. They really catch on quick and know their months. It's just the hand movements to the marcarena and you say the months to the tune of the song. It's really cute and they get to move around too.

I agree with sweet.pea09 and imread2, singing the song to that tune helps the kids learn the months quickly. They love it and it helps get the wigglys out! Check out Dr. Jean's website for more great ideas.

Adams Family Tune. Go to link below. Dr. Jean has it on one of her CDs.

You'll forgive the political incorrectness, our song is to the tune of "One Little, Two Little, Three Little Indians" like spunkynetty's version, just the month's names, but ends instead with "Twelve months in a year!" Our days of the week song is to the tune of "Bear Went Over the Mountain". I won't print the words, you know them, but it starts with Sunday and ends with the phrase "Saturday's the last day, Seven days in a week" The Macarena one is fun too, and the Addams Family tune

It's an oldie, but still good. The rhythm of it makes it sound like a skipping song.

Apples, peaches, pears, and plums
Tell me when your birthday comes!
Is it January, February, March or April?
May, June, July or August?
September, October, November, December?
