Does anyone use C-Scope? I am a Texas teacher and our school is looking at it. Please tell me the good, bad and the ugly...

I am not a fan...too much "fluff" to it...makes it hard for the students to understand and complete the work. I supplement it A LOT in my classroom!!!

Hey Angie,

I used CScope exclusively for Science last year with mixed feeling. I like that it is very, very systematic and organized...however, there are some weak areas that we did have to supplement. Initially, the district's position was that we were only allowed to use CScope...however, after the 3rd month they modified their approach and said that CScope was to be the basic for scope and sequence and we could supplement it with other materials like AIMS and Ford Ferrier.

The only thing that I like about it is that it allows the kids to self-discover the concepts. You will get lots of higher thinking questioning and activities.

I don't like that you have to read for hours, literally. It has lots of sheets that can only be used to solve 2 problems. You have to pull out a lot from other resources for practice.
