Hello I am being observed for the first time because she cancelled and didnt show up last time. I have to follow the reading series and the book I am reading is Warthogs in the kitchen. Need some good group kinestetic ideas.

I am desperate and first year teacher and need anything I can get. You all are so amazing and so helpful.

THANKS SO MUCH

Your objective could be beginning/middle and end of story. Use a graphic organizer.

Prior knowledge could be how many of you have ever helped your mom cook.

You could hook children to story by bringing out things that you could use to cook with that were in the story. This could be some good vocabulary for them.

Read story/then think aloud about beginning of story, what happened at middle/end
Then do some think pair share with a partner about beginning /middle and end and then call three people to share with group. Beginning/Middle and end. Write on graphic organizer

Have children write about part of the story after you model what you would write.
