I am in need of some good expository writing prompts - are there any out there?

but my third graders enjoy...
  • Bring in a lovey and write a description (include at least 2 big ideas... i.e. appearance and how it's used)
  • Interview a friend and write a piece (again include at least 2 big ideas like appearance and hobbies)
  • Favorite places to read (2 ideas... i.e. descibe location and tell what makes it a good place to read)
  • make "naked turkey" and write about disguise
  • choose a favorite "hot spot" around town write about it (why it's your favorite, describe)
