iPoint sharpener

Does anyone have the iPoint pencil sharpener that grasps the pencil and holds it while it sharpens it, and then releases when it's done? I'm thinking about getting one for my class, but I don't want to spend that much money if they don't work well, or if they don't hold up.

thanks!!

the big iPoint pencil sharpener. I absolutely loved it until it just kept grinding the pencil. It would suck it down, but not sharpen it. I took it apart and it's all computerized inside, so I threw it away. A coworker has the small one in her room. She keeps it on her desk and has good luck with it. It's battery operated and mine had to be plugged in. I'd look for something else.

I don't use electric anymore (they never seem to last, no matter how much I spend -- thinking that the more expensive ones must surely be better).

However, I recently got a manual sharpener from classroomfriendlysupplies.com and I LOVE it! In fact, so many other teachers in my building have stopped into my room after hearing about my new sharpener that we are now placing a bulk order with the guy (hopefully everyone pays tomorrow so we can get our sharpeners fast).

I had the same problem with mine, then it totally just broke. So, i bought a small desk ipoint and it was terrible too. Now I have an exacto hand crank sharpener and even though its not electric, I find that it works the very, very best. I can't even begin to tell you how many electric sharpeners I have been through. ugh!
