This is great. Did you have the students do this in class with the book out or was it an at home assignment? What a great way to perform an assessment, I am going to adapt it for the book we're reading now (Nothing but the Truth by Avi)

as an at home assignment. Kind of like a take home test. They just turned them in this past week and I got some awesome looking ones - and then some horrible ones. But - either way, I could asses both if they read and also if they took notes throughout the quarter and understand the character, setting, and plot info. I think it worked pretty well...
