I lost my 1 and only schedule! I have been tearing my room apart. Put it in such a safe secure place that even I can't find it.

Any suggestions on how to tell the parents that I lost it and need to redo the schedule again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel for you... Just send a note home saying the first sign up sheet was destroyed, please let me know the time you signed up for. Have they signed up recently? Did you send reminders before you lost the sheet?

I also suggest that you look in places that you do not think you put it. It is possible that it stuck to the back of something and got filed away.

To make you feel better....

Years ago a former principal lost the entire school's sign up sheets. Conferences were signed up for in the multi-purpose room before visitation time. She collected them, put them somewhere and they disappeared. We had to ask the entire school to resign.

Oh my.....
Reminders have not been sent out, about 1/4 have a sibling so I can get that, but about 1/2 I called and personally scheduled!!!!!

Oh, it very well is filed in the back of something. But what????

I've gone through all my files twice and threw out a box of old papers and crap.

It is horrible when this happens, and it happens to all of us at least once. Something just disappears. At some point you need to move in and just give up. Either you admit you lost it, or make up something like things need to be rescheduled so everyone needs to sign up again. (but you will try to honor old times if possible). Many of the parents probably put it on their calendar and still have it so they can tell you their New (actually old) request. You just have to put it behind you and you will someday (not soon) laugh about it. I always put mine on my computer as soon as it's done just in case. One more thing...think out of the box...could it be in a special folder or notebook, not like what you are looking for?

I recommend having another teacher come in and take a quick look for you- that always works for me- they are not a part of the situation and can step back and look rationally.

Also, try just sitting at your desk and think for a minute- take a deep breath!

I'm pretty sure any parent would understand though if you call back and ask them- we've all been there!
