Does anyone know a good place to get classroom sets of books cheap? I have used scholastic before, but I need a book they are not offering cheap right now. It seems like everyone wants an arm and a leg shipping and is not willing to sell 24 copies cheap or with one shipping charge.

Do you have a used bookstore nearby? They may be able to sell you a combo of new and used books for your collection. Books for Less is near me and they offer a 20% discount on new items (make sure you have ISBN info). I trade paperbacks from my own person collection to earn points towards other purchases.

The biggies, Borders, Waldenbooks, and Barnes and Noble tend to offer up to a 20% discount if you order with them for school use... you could avoid shipping cost by picking them up yourself.

One more idea, have you tired half.com? All of your books may not arrive at the same time, which is a major glitch if you need 20 copies by next week.

I went through half.com and was able to find a "power seller" that had 20 copies of a book. You may want to try there first. :-)

I recently did a Scholastic book order and my kids ordered over $200 worth. With my bonus points, I was able to get a classroom set of "Bud, Not Buddy" AND "Tale of Desperaux". I got 25 copies of each for FREE! I know some classes might not order that much, but it's worth a shot.

Same here - I am looking for a web site in which I can order some class sets of books for 4th grade. Let me know if you find a web site for this with low shipping charges.
