I am debating between reading Tale of Desperaux or Bud, Not Buddy as my next novel. I was leaning toward Desperaux only because I have a literature study packet that goes with it, but now, I may do Bud. I love the book and you have done a lot of work putting this together.
You don't by chance have any vocabulary to go along with each chapter? My kids have a very limited vocab and I find there are many words they do not know the meaning to. So, I like to do vocab with each novel we read. Maybe, I should start re-reading and I could put together a vocab list to add to your work.
Thanks for sharing. I also created a comprehension packet with vocabulary for Bud, Not Buddy. It is created to be cut out and glued into a notebook (which explains the dotted lines). Here is a link to my resource:
Thank you for sharing. I used Bud, Not Buddy last year as a read aloud and loved it. It was the first time I had ever read it. I will use it again this year.
I love your unit!!! You did a fantastic job! I teach 1st grade, but still felt compelled to save your lesson just in case I ever teach older grades again.
It is so generous of you to share! Your work is awesome. I have a group reading Bud, Not Buddy right now! Another group is reading My Brother Sam is Dead. You don't happen to have a critical thinking packet for that novel do you? Thanks again!!
