Poetry Station Ideas

Any creative ideas for the poetry station? I have just buddy reading poems in there right now w/cute pointers for the kids to read them with. I think the kids are getting bored. The problem is i don't really have much space to put a poetry station- things will just need to fit inside a small lakeshore container. Anything that can be done on paper, in a clipboard, etc. would be great! I could even actually involve the overhead and make it a poetry/overhead station.... thanks! (By the way it's 1st/2nd grade)

a magnetic poetry kit? They are fun to write with and I just have mine next to my filing cabinet for a work surface.

Has a Poetry for Sight Words and a Poetry for Math Skills book for 1st/2nd grade. I use it in my room every week. She has a copy of the poem, an overhead of the poem and individual, partner, small group and whole group activity ideas for each poem.

I have a poetry station in my second grade classroom so that my students can practice fluency and voice. I have a few poetry books from my personal collection as well as from our school library. I also have paper, crayons, magazines, and pencils. The last thing I put in there, are different outlines of different types of poems. I let the students pick a poem to buddy read first. The students then pick an outline to create their own poem on a piece of paper. The students can then use the crayons and magazines to find pictures to illustrate their poems. The students then read their poem to their buddy. The student created poems then become a poetry book for our class library. The only thing I really change out is the books I put in there and the magazines. I haven't heard one complaint of being bored or needing new stuff in there! They seem to really enjoy this station.

Kiddos could cut the poem into different line, mix them up and put back into right order? Or put on sentence strips and do the same thing.
