Thanksgiving Centerpiece

At my new school, we have a big Thanksgiving dinner where families can come in to eat with students. I was told today that I am supposed to make some sort of centerpiece to put at each persons place setting for our class. This is kind of last minute considering we have half a day of school tomorrow and our dinner is next Thursday.

Do you have a cute craft that we can create for our setting that will impress families and my firsties can create relatively easily?

Thank you!

Can you get access to pine cones? If so, you can make each place a pine cone turkey. Google turkey crafts and you will be amazed what is out there, lots of cool ideas that are easy, cheap that the kids can make. Good luck..

Here's one that looks really good. I think I may be doing some of these! Thanks for reminding me of this.

I saw a old fashioned "hand turkey" used as a place card. Trace and decorate as usual, then write the name of the person in the middle, and stand up with a little piece of cardboard. Cute and cheap!

fill paper bags with newspaper. Color a turkey pattern. Glue turkey pattern to bag (bag helps turkey to sit up). Accordian fold legs with strips of construction paper. Glue feet to bottom of strips. Each student makes one. For last year's feast the students placed them at their tables in the center. They were cute.
