Do anyone have fun ideas to teach the food groups to preschoolers? I would like fun gross motor, fine motor, and creative activities. Thanks.

We are making a collage. I will write the food groups on paper, and they will cut out pictures. As they cut them out we will discuss which group they belong in and they will glue them there.

Take a piece of paper and draw a plate on it. They can fill their plate with healthy food. Laminate it to make a place mat.

I will come back when I remember what else we do... gotta go to work now though!

I did a similar thing as the last poster. I cut out many pictures of different foods, then we sorted them into the different groups and glued them onto a giant food pyramid (It's a little tough now since they changed the configuration of the pyramid from blocks to wedges.). Then we had a taste test of an item from each group, and discussed which group each was in. To extend it further, we made a class graph of our favorite types of foods.
