Hi,
I am looking for suggestions on how to share one computer in my class. It will be used as a centre but I would like to use it as a reward as well. I was wondering if others do this already and how they implement it.

I don't want to get in the habit of early finishers using it as they will rush through their work just to use the computer or it will always be the same few children.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Does your district have this...If so setting up a station with a video that goes with the curriculum is a great idea. the kids then take turn rotating out of it...pulling the next stick and replacing their seat.

This could be done with some of the math sites also...have them set a timer and then pick the person to replace them. Don't replace the names until everyone has had a chance.

I used your idea to manage the computer and started it today. I laminated each child's name and they move it across a chart when they have used the computer. It worked really well and the students are being very diligent with keeping a written record. I think it will make them more accountable.

We don't have United Streaming. How often do you use it in your class? I think I will try the trial before I ask for it to be purchased. Any insights you can give me would be helpful.

I use United Streaming when I start new curriculum...the videos are good and some of them even come with teacher outlines and follow up questions. I toggle between whole class and individual watching...I like the sight a lot.
