It was gal's down the halll...6th grade boy has low level autism/NDL and this is the year the other kids are starting to make fun of him behind his back. There are 2 or 3 other boys who are truly friends with him, are patient with his situation, kind and compasionate, and help him out socially when he need to be.

Parent of one of the nice boys says to teacher she's concerned that her son's friendship with NLD boy is "bringing him down socially." 'Nuff said. gggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.........Teacher was WAY more professional that I would have been, that's for sure.

What about bringing him UP as a compassionate, kind, intelligent person who understands not every person is the same and each one should be treated equally to the greatest extent possible.

Ignorance drives me nuts.

That this kid has somehow managed to learn to be a nice, friendly person despite his mother's 'odd' ideas.
