I am on the interview committe for our new principal. Has anyone done this before? What are some questions you asked. I have to meet with HR to discuss what questions I feel we should ask. Any help here would be great.
Thanks

I haven't been on a committee, but I know a question which would tell me something about the person.
This is kind of an educational philosophy question and not sure how to word it, but...
Do you want teachers to teach the book or teach the child?
(But there has to be a GREAT way to word that!)

last summer. some of my questions: What would you do if a parent came to you to complain about his/her child's teacher? What goals would you set as a first year principal at______________School? What kinds of actions would you take to ensure high morale of the teachers? Do you do walk ins? How often would you formally observe teachers and how would you assess them? Do you have an open door policy with parents? Do you require teachers to hand in plan books? If so, how often? In what ways would you encourage leadership on the part of the teachers? How big a voice would teachers have in decision making?
