What are some Christmas crafts/activities you do with your class? This is my first year in kindergarten and I need some awesome ideas (I have to have the best right?). I know this is the place to get them! Websites and/or pictures would be awesome too! Thanks!

stick reindeer ornament

I have done this one for years and it has become a tradition. We use 3 popsicle sticks to form a reindeer head ornament. I don't know how to draw it online but basically you glue the end of 2 sticks at the point to make a V. Then add another across the top to make the antlers and ears. Add wiggly eyes and a pom pom nose. Add ribbon at the top to hang. We usually add a little bow, jingle bell or pine for trim. I have found it helpful to complete in stages. The kids glue the 1st step and then I read a short Christmas story. Then glue the next stick and read another story. etc. This allows the sticks to dry before they start moving them again to add the next part. We use the ornaments to decorate our classroom tree and then send home before the holiday.

I like to have the kids decorate a bag or a box with stickers and Christmas cards and put them on the counter for most of December. I put on a large name tag. Then each craft goes there so it is safe and then they're all taken home at once.

Cut a tree from green fun foam. Punch a hole for a string, paper clip or pipe cleaner hanger. Glue on sequins or self sticking fun foam bits.

Glue colored pasta on cardboard shapes. Or use plain and use lots of glitter glue.

Beads on pipe cleaners.

Cut out a huge stocking from colored paper.. Add white fuzzy to top- whatever you can find that's cheap. Or use something else- stickers, ribbon, lace to decorate. Child cuts out and glues on desired pictures from flyers and catalogs.

Rudolph-Trace the child's foot on brown tag. Draw on a face. red pom pom for nose. Punch 2 holes at top and thread through 2 pieces of pipe cleaner and twist to make antlers. Or trace the child's hands for antlers. Maybe find out about real reindeer.

Santa-Precut some red squares for body, smaller red rectangles for arms and legs, red triangle for hat, black rectangles for boots, black strip for belt. Child adds fun foam hands or draws own mitss. pom pom for hat. Draw face. Glue on fuzzy white stuff. Sticker on belt.

Decorate sugar cookies.

Or make a "gingerbread" house from 3 graham crackers glued with stiff white icing. Add candies.

Or make gingerbread men. Look for gingerbread units on various sites. I love Jan Brett's books.

Photo in a frame or on a CD. Decorate.

Cut the bottom of green mesh strawberry baskets- they may not be around any more. I still have a stash! Put on glue and glitter to make a snowflake. Hang on the diagonal.

Tiny pasta glued on 3 colored craft sticks which are glued in center.

I do not do all these thing in one season. It was just in the stuff in my Christmas box- hope this helps a few people

Very cute and easy--

photocopy a reindeer head on brown const. paper. Students trace hands for antlers. Add red glitter for the nose.

This year I'm going to do Santa's from Mrs. JUmps class--check out her website.
