lunch count with a Smart/Interwrite board?

Do any of you use your SmartBoard/InterWrite/Promethean board for students to mark their lunch choices on?

I want to find a new system. Right now I have to record every students lunch choice on a laminated slip. Whatever I do I'd have to print or rewrite it so that its in alphabetical order.

I thought I'd see if anyone else does this and how. Thanks for sharing

I don't personally do this but I have seen many teachers in my building do it. I think they have just made a T chart with the kids' names at the bottom. They write/type the lunch choice at the top and the kids drag their name to their choice. They have it already up on the smartboard when they come in. Everyone who does it seems to like it. We have two hot lunch choices, a cold lunch choice, and then sack lunch. With all these choices, it is a fast way for us to do lunch count. Depending on the grade you teach, the teacher's helper could put them in abc order. HOpe you find a way that works for you!

I made a template that I use each year. We have the choices of main, pizza, salad, grab-n-go, packing. These are the headings. The kids drag their name under their choice. It's an easy way to take attendance, too. I love it!

I think I'll give it a whirl. It sounds good, I just want it to be efficient. The newest office system is so time consuming on my end- I have the kids just put their popsicle stick with their name on it a bin and then I transpose to the form. The problem is we have 5 choices for hot lunch: entree, PBJ, meat sandwich, salad, or veggie burger. That is a lot of choices for a 7 year old!
