Reindeer Help Wanted Ads

I do a reindeer help wanted ad...I don't have the pages saved on computer because they were given to me by another teacher. My students and I brainstorm a board full of jobs that might be had at the North Pole...they usually get a little more creative as we go as long as I throw in a few suggestions like Santa's personal trainer etc. !

After we get a good list, they choose a job and begin working on a description of the qualifications, education needed, who to contact for the job etc....I will look at my stuff tomorrow at school and try to get it posted tomorrow....I have a format that they use to write it with. Then when they write their final copies they color a reindeer head and two hoofs, cut them out and glue them so that the head is at the top of the lined paper holding their ad and the hoofs are glued to look like they are holding the ad...that is probably as clear as mud! Sorry....I will try to look through my lesson and post better instructions later... if you are interested!

I have the students write Christmas poems and then either type them or write them on paper that I buy which has a Christmas light border. I bought the large colorful lights from Lowe's and hang that around the poems on the board.

have reindeer or Santas or trees in our school. We can't even though our district is 96% Christian. I'm not even talking about anything religious. We just aren't allowed to have any of it.

do you know your district is 96% Christian? Just wondering how they are able to come up with those numbers.

Here is the final copy sheet that I have my students write their reindeer want ads on.

This is the format I have them follow...I generally write one on the board and leave the format on the board for them to follow.

Title (Ex; Santa's Coat Maker)
Applicants needed to (for) _______________.
Qualifications needed are __________, _________, and _________. Benefits include ___________, ____________, and ____________.
To apply for this position call or email __________ at __________.

I am still trying to find a reindeer pattern online that looks similiar to the one I use

Hope this information helps!

able to use this as the reindeer head...it doesn't have the hoofs with it, but it looks similiar to the reindeer head mine color and glue to the top of the help wanted sheet. I also glue a big red pom pom ball on for the nose...this really sets them off!

scroll down to the christmas deer pattern.
