Calling all ELMO users....need your help

Hello,

I was approached by my principal and the Library Media Specialist to write a grant to enhance our literacy program. I would love to include an ELMO in the grant since I have read so many interesting things on PT about this document camera. Can you help me by answering a few questions?

What model do you have?

Is it easy to set up and take down to share with other teachers?

How do you use it in your classroom?

Thanks,

Jackie

The PTA just bought us an ELMO this year and I love it! I'll check tomorrow what model it is. I use it daily. It wasn't too difficult to set up and it is very light. I have showed several students how to turn it on and off in case I'm absent. I love how you can zoom in and out. I write in an extra math journal and don't have to worry about making overhead copies and washing them off anymore. Today I hooked it up to the computer and was able to do an online Thanksgiving lesson on Scholastic. I can't say enough about the ELMO.

use our daily and constantly! You can project onto a white board and write right on the board! You can also show books, anything off your computer...I am not sure what we did before this! Absolutely love it!! Not sure of the model

I have the TT-O2U

Project handwriting pages on a white board, then the students can practice right there and have the lines they need! Also, I created a table that I project on the white board, when the students come in, they have to sign in and check if they are hot lunch or cold lunch, or if they have a note for me. It helped us establish a quiet morning routine.

If you get a new ELMO like mine, the software that comes with it is great..you can capture pictures and show the steps of a process. Also, turn the camera around and video the class. Sometimes I will have the camera aimed at a group while I am working with another group....helps them to stay on track because they are projected on the big screen.

Good luck!

Hi,

I am not sure the exact ELMO I have in my classroom but it is the teacher's model. It is very easy to connect to an LCD. Just as easy as connecting a labtop. I just it daily. To share student work to projecting a book to taking pictures.

I just wanted to let you know, don't forget to write in monies for the LCD, many ELMOs do not project without an LCD! Plus, if you want to take pictures with the ELMO, you will need to buy memory card! Just food for thought!

Sincerely,
Patricia
