When teaching computer literacy, I created a bulletin board with a timeline marking important events in the development of computers and the Internet. Students (some individually; some in groups) then researched and wrote about the events, and where possible, included images. Because of space limitations, writing was printed using a very wide right margin so that the printed work would be narrow and fit more easily on the timeline.

For computer-related posters, contact computer and other tech companies and ask them to send you advertising posters for your classroom.

some of my favorite ideas

A couple of the bulletin board ideas I did (elementary school):
1) I drew a huge spider web (Halloween time of year) that filled up the entire area and stapled plastic spiders around it. Title: Look What's on the Web
Within the web I stapled links to sites I wanted them to investigate. Sometimes they were seasonal or subject related or homework help sites.

2) Similar idea as above but drew a fish net. Title: Look What's on the Net
Cut out fish shapes with web sites on them swimming toward the net.

I hope they help. I have also created bulletin Boards to demonstrate how to cut, copy and paste, a new software program and really anything that might get them excited about learning in the computer lab.

I have a digital wall of fame bulletin board. Students who have perfect attendance for the six weeks picture are taken and added to the board. The pictures are taken with the classroom digital camera.

In our computer lab they made a bulletin board that looks like a keyboard. They took the little square styrofoam to go boxes that you would put a sandwich in and put the alphabet ( cut out with black letters from our ellison machine) and the numbers on them like a keyboard. It was arranged just like a keyboard and has been able to stay up for quite awhile. Too cute.
