Each of the intermediate classrooms in my building received almost $500 to spend on literature in our rooms. I would like to update my classroom library.....I was thinking of purchasing some Hank Zipzer books, Time Warp Trio, Dear Dumb Diary....

What other new and "cool" series books should I consider? TIA

I have also started buying some of the popular titles on CD. I have 2 reasons for this; one, the students who aren't at that level can read the book along with the CD so they can read some of the material that their peers are reading and 2, I think it helps the readers on level as it uses intonation and pronounces words that are challenging and some of the kids then comprehend better. I do always require that regardless of level they must read the book along with the CD.
My students are eating up all the 39 Clue books as well as the Lightning Theif series.
