Rhyme about glue

Does anyone have a good rhyme to use when working with glue...to teach the children to only use a little?
The only thing I can find online is "dots not lots" but I know I have heard others....

Thanks!!!

I usually sing this to the tune of The Farmer in the Dell:

A little dab will do,
A little dab will do,
When your using goopy glue,
A little dab will do.

My Glue Rule
Old 11-20-2009, 09:14 AM

I used this in Kinder and have carried it over to First. I tell the kiddos that the "cow" on the front of the glue bottle is my friend. Her name is Ole Bessie. She is the glue cow. My rule is ... don't MILK Ole Bessie. I model what "milking" (using too much glue) is and then what "just a dot, not a lot" looks like.
Hope this helps. The kids seem to like it and I don't have problems with glue, except this year I do. A habitual glue and booger eater -- gross! ;-)

I tell K and 1 kids "Since we are not wall papering the bathroom a little dot will do." They giggle and they remember.
