Why must they be so rude...

Administrators....if you have a great one, I hope you appreciate it! The aide I have for a disabled student was almost in tears this morning because she went to ask the principal something and was treated so rudely. I guess she was already supposed to know the answer to her question. That's right, we having nothing better to do than go to the principal with useless crap. HELLO!!

I'm to the point that I don't even approach her unless it cannot be avoided. And then, only by email. I know many others in my building feel the same way.

That is so sad. Administrators are suppose to set an example. I have super Administrators and the staff in our building let them know how much they are appreciated on a regular basis.

That situation is unfortunately way too common. It's a shame that there is no evaluation system for administrators. Even tenured college professors have to give an end of year evaluation form. Shouldn't superintendents be concerned about how their administrators are doing in the eyes of their teachers?

I think my principal is excellent. He has no ego about this school. He has no sense that this is his school and we work in it. His attitude is that this school is the teaching staff's school, and his job is to facilitate everything in the building so it works best for us.

The school I work in is an hour's drive from my home. I have declined opportunities to post into schools nearer to home because I simply feel so supported and respected here.

I am to a point where I avoid mine completely. I don't even e mail, because I have been told that they may print off e mails and put them in your file. So, I just don't even bother anymore.

I avoid mine as well. I only speak to her when completely necessary. I don't email either because last year she printed off my emails and used them against me.
