Who do we contact about having the inappropriate content on the site? It is difficult to look at my favorite website covertly and all of a sudden a student comes to ask a question and there is a half naked person! AHHH!

Town Hall for offensive posts or PM Admin

If it's a post that is offensive, look for the gray 'stop' button in the lower left corner of a post. You can click on it and write a comment about why it's inappropriate to report it.

You can also copy and paste the URL (web address) of the page and report it on the "Town Hall" Board.

I've read other posts with complaints about some of the ads. I think it will also help to describe the offensive ad.

I suppose you could also send a Private Message (PM) to either Editor or Admin

I'm always surprised when I hear teachers are on a website like this in the presence of students.

I've gotten on here with students in class before when I knew there was a link to a website I have bookmarked here.. or a lesson plan idea... but I have the monitors on my computers facing away from students so they don't just walk up on me...

Not to start a debate, but I agree!

I barely have time to pee during the day, let alone sit at the computer and surf the net - ! I am running around like a crazy woman from 7:30 - 3:30. I check my email every day at lunch, but that's it!

Sanity!

It is my sanity break when they are eating lunch. Either I am browsing aimlessly to take a break for a few moments, or I am racing to find something to do for the last part of the day. I need a little bit of a break at some point of the day!!

I don't fault you there, especially if it is lunchtime. We have duty-free lunch, so I do get a break then and usually check my email. I don't get on Proteacher because I can never spend just 5 minutes here.

From your original post, I thought you were checking out the boards while you had students working on an assignment in the room.
