Thankgiving Movies & Independent Activities

Next Wednesday I am doing a Thanksgiving Feast with my kiddos. When preparing the feast, I am going to call seperate groups of kids to help. While waiting for their turn, I need an activity for the kids to do. Does anyone have any independent activity ideas that these students could do while I'm helping the others? I am also planning on watching a movie while they eat. Does anyone have an idea? I've already showed them Charlie Brown & Pocahontas.

Thank you!!

Mouse on the Mayflower

I prepared a Thanksgiving Activity book for the kids to do while they are waiting.
I also have Roll - A - Turkey that they can do with a partner.

I second Mouse on the Mayflower. We do the roll as turkey as well. You can go to www.makinglearningfun.com, go to themes and then turkey or thanksgiving for some printouts on the roll a turkey. There are also printouts for the bingo daubers if you have them. Otherwise, generate or copy from a book a word search dealing with Thanksgiving. Since you have a feast, have they made necklaces to wear? Otherwise, color some noodles and let them pattern away! They could always decorate turkeys or turkey cookies, color pilgrims, or cut pictures from a magazine of what they would want for a meal and glue them on a paper plate.

I also show The Mouse on the Mayflower. It really isn't the most politically correct movie, but it does tell the story fairly well. The kids all really seem to like it.
