How many grades per quarter, per subject are you required to have?

Thanks!

It is strongly suggested that we have grades for at least 3 pieces of evidence per standard for a ranking period.

We have no required amount of grades, it's whatever we need to assess the child's learning.

We haven't been given a specific number but I try to have at least one grade per subject per week. Some weeks don't get any while other weeks get more than one though. We run on trimesters that are 12 weeks long so I like to have at least 12 grades per subject at the end.

I also try for 1 grade per subject area per week. We send home monthly progress notes on whatever we wish (usually decided by grade level). I typically include an updated fluency score, math minute report, Accelerated Reader report... etc. I ALSO include a note with report cards that outlines how each child is assessed. My mentor teacher 10 years ago used this same letter - I find it helps with that question or ... "Why are all the papers I see come home 100% smile faces & the report grade is NOT 100%."

We are required to have at least 5 grades per subject per trimester. They must be a variety of assessments, not all paper and pencil tests. Usually I have a project in Religion and Reading (book report) each trimester, and then quizzes, major tests, classroom work (individual and group). I usually have more in Writing and then Spelling we have every week.

We're required to record two grades per subject each week. 9 weeks in a quarter, so 18 grades per subject.
