Math Lesson Plans for the short week

Ok, so I have truely procrastinated! I am sitting here making a review Science Jeopardy Game for this short week. My partners and I feel that it would not benefit us at all if we started on a new concept for this week. Does anyone have any great Math activities that they would be willing to share? I appreciate it! Thanks all!

The kids always love the traditional lesson of planning a dinner, using grocery store ads, and a budget. They work with a group to figure out how many items to buy and cost. Fold manila paper and glue pics with prices in boxes. Good for all the math operations.

This activity incorporates estimation and understanding of fractions and decimals using Thanksgiving statistics. Which are the concepts in our current math unit. This should be completed with pairs of students.

Step #1: Students make initial estimates without any other information
Step #2: Students are given the first set of clues and make revisions to estimates
Step #3: Same as step #2, with second set of clues
Step #4: Students determine the correct answers using the final set of clues.
Step #5: Debrief solutions

Play Contig

Contig is a great game for practicing basic facts and strategy at the same time. You just need the gameboard (I put mine in sheet protectors and have the kids use dry erase markers) and 3 regular dice for each pair of students.
