Annoying AP

I feel like my AP is singling me out and treating me differently than others. She has called me into her office several times this year, and wants to see me again tomorrow. The strange thing is that I honestly believe my principal knows nothing about the APs PROJECT.

We have no union. I have nowhere to turn. Advice?

Should I just smile and nod?

ask the P for a meeting. Without a Union, you are stuck with chain of command. Best of luck to you. It sucks having a target on your back.

I would also document and then ask that the AP reschedule the meeting when the P could attend also. If the P can't attend, ask that someone you trust (another teacher) to attend with you. Write down all you can remember from past meetings with dates and times if possible.

It might help us to know more about how this person is singling you out. Is she asking for more detailed plans? Is she nitpicking things going on in the classroom? Is she overly critical of your room environment?

The other posters are correct in that you should document and try to involve others. Would it help to straight out tell her that you're feeling singled out? Sometimes when a person is straightforward and brutally frank, the bully backs off. That's another thing; do you feel this person is a bully? If so, the only way to get her off your back is to defend yourself vigorously. However, with no union, that will be difficult.
