Grade 1 Flip the Sound

I made cards with sight words pictures and a mix of long and short vowel words. I modeled using the wrong vowel sound and cross checking noticing that it kind of looked right, but did not sound right, so we all flipped our hands palms up to palms down and practiced flipping the vowel sounds. Voila, it looked right, sounded right and made sense with the pictures.

I got this from somewhere (probably PT), but I make four small ones and tape them to my students' book boxes that need them (I teach 3rd).
