What do you do with your wikki stix? Any good activities or ideas?

I mainly use mine at the beginning of the year. Students use them to make shapes and to make their names. I am curious to see what other teachers are using them for.

I've used them during guided reading. Students circle answers or examples in their books.

......are awesome! I have used them in reading to underline sight words in our readers during small groups before reading. I have also used them in math centers as a center where I made big number cards (laminated) and the kids trace over the numbers with the Wiki Stix. You could do the same for letters I suppose.
When I taught older kids they used them when they partner read a story and have to find the answers to questions in the story. The partners would underline where they found the answers (or the clue that made them think of the answer) with their Wiki Stix.

I purchased a box of alphabet letter cards that were made for Wikki stixs. The students lay the stixs on top of the cards, then trace with their fingers. They certainly do love them.
Now, I have a list of our Kindergarten reading words and the students use the stixs to form the new words each week. They also enjoy finding words in our big books and placing the stix under the words.

I use them mostly as a phonics activity for kids to circle words with a certain pattern or sound. Also, I use them in a center when they are learning to write their numerals.

They are a Word Work choice for my students during Daily 5. They make sight words or word family words with them.

They are also fun for just playing with during "choice" time.

We use them to circle certain letters and/or sight words on our morning message chart. My kids also use them to form letters, numbers, shapes, and sight words. They used to follow flashcards but now they can do it without the cards. When they make any creation, I sometimes ask them to do a crayon rubbing of it so I can see their work later on.

I laminated some connect the dots worksheets and my kids use wikki stix to connect the dots.

My students came up with this idea - they asked if they could use wikki stix at the storytelling center and they made stick people and retold and made up stories using these new figures! The new "guys" could stand up, move, hold things...they thought that was really cool.
