We use them to circle certain letters and/or sight words on our morning message chart. My kids also use them to form letters, numbers, shapes, and sight words. They used to follow flashcards but now they can do it without the cards. When they make any creation, I sometimes ask them to do a crayon rubbing of it so I can see their work later on.
I laminated some connect the dots worksheets and my kids use wikki stix to connect the dots.
My students came up with this idea - they asked if they could use wikki stix at the storytelling center and they made stick people and retold and made up stories using these new figures! The new "guys" could stand up, move, hold things...they thought that was really cool.
