Reassure me; Can I wear a pencil skirt to a wedding reception?

I could not find the right dress on short notice for a reception *only* this Friday night. Can I wear a black pencil skirt & feminine sleeveless blouse w/ heels ? {I am sorry I brought this up a few days ago, but I am running out of time & feeling uncertain.} I have only previously attended summer weddings.
TIA!

Go for it! Thinking back to my wedding last year, I saw several people wearing them and I didn't even think twice about it.

Of course you can, it sounds fine.

What I find wierd is the greatglam.com ad that pops up next to your post. Um... that little black dress would not be good for a wedding - but Hifi might like the boobage popping through. Does anyone else see this ad?

Yes, wear the pencil skirt.

Yes I see the ad! Who to heck would ever wear that vest?? There's no shirt under it and her boobs are falling out!

Thanks so much everyone!
me41, this is the first time I have seen this add and agree that the outfits would not be appropriate for a reception! The top left girl does appear to have a black skirt on but it is more like a *cap eraser skirt* rather than *pencil* skirt!

ETA ROTFL (yep, prefer the tyson breasts )

love how it says Plus Size Available. I am plus sized and would NEVER wear these dresses! Yuck! I think you should definitely wear the pencil skirt and blouse!

Totally. I think it's fine. Just keep everything else dressed up.

WTH? My ad is "Impact! He's back. Hulk wrestles again!" No vest - he's completely bare-chested.

That's what I see too!

To the OP, I agree: wear the skirt.

My ad is a written ad for yoga in Vancouver. I want the greatglam ad (where IS the whining icon?).

The pencil skirt is fine, what colour is the sleeveless top?

I think the skirt is fine...I've worn a black pencil skirt to a wedding before...and Friday weddings tend to be a little more casual than Saturday weddings so I say go for it!
